The Sony E PZ 18-110mm f/4 G is a Super 35 mm / APS-C format zoom lens offering superb image quality, user-friendly operation, and ultra-quiet performance that enhances efficiency and workflow in the most demanding film production environments. With a wide-angle of 18 mm and a telephoto reach of 110 mm (6.1x zoom), this lens covers the most frequently used focal range for Super 35mm / APS-C, featuring a constant maximum aperture of F4 throughout the entire zoom range. In addition, Sony’s Smooth Motion Optics (SMO) design minimizes image shift caused by lens operation, while advanced zoom control and refined focusing contribute to a state-of-the-art 4K performance, even at the edges of the frame.

Sony’s original SMO (Smooth Motion Optics) construction and design minimize all optical shifts that could negatively affect cinematic image quality. Focus breathing is reduced via an internal focusing mechanism; focus shift is eliminated through precise tracking adjustments; and axial shift is minimized thanks to a constant-length design.

In addition to the smooth power zoom, manual mechanical zoom offers immediate and responsive control, allowing for precise framing without the risk of over- or underexposure. The direction of the zoom ring can be easily reversed as needed. The lens supports slow, fluid zoom operation and incorporates an internal zoom mechanism.

The integrated Optical SteadyShot image stabilization helps keep captured images steady and sharp across a wide range of shooting conditions. This is a significant advantage in low-light environments, where it minimizes the need to raise the ISO—avoiding potential image noise—as well as when shooting handheld or while in motion.

The focus ring can be slid to switch between manual and autofocus modes, allowing seamless transitions without interrupting the shot. The lens barrel features a standard 0.8 mm pitch focus gear, ensuring full compatibility with professional follow focus accessories.

Its dust- and moisture-resistant sealing provides additional protection, ensuring reliable performance in harsh environments. Shooting can be done with confidence in light rain or windy conditions, and its compact, lightweight design supports the mobility required in all production scenarios.
