Proven at 20-camera scale
For the Maiara & Maraísa concert at Campo Pequeno, in Lisbon, Digital Azul deployed 20 Sony 4K cameras, combining FR7 PTZ, FX9, FX6 and FX3 bodies, on one of the largest 4K concert recordings ever made in Portugal. Cranes, dolly tracks and stabilisers were positioned to capture cinematic movement without disrupting the performance, and every camera remained synchronised in real time to keep the image consistent across all angles. This is the system we bring to your production: Sony Cinema Line full-frame sensors, from the FX3 to the new FX5, cine optics and broadcast discipline, in configurations from 4 to more than 20 cameras.
Fibre-optic infrastructure, installed in any venue
Large venues are hostile to copper. Our crew designs, installs and strikes dedicated fibre-optic cabling across arenas, stadiums and festival grounds, carrying video, sync, control and intercom over long runs, immune to interference from lighting rigs and LED walls. Camera positions can go wherever the director needs them, from front of house to delay towers, catwalks or the stage lip, without compromising signal integrity.
RTS intercom: communication-first production
Digital Azul is an RTS Intercom Systems rental partner across Europe. On multi-camera productions we deploy an RTS backbone that combines wired keypanels at fixed positions with NOMAD wireless IP beltpacks for mobile teams, supporting up to 16 intercom channels with SMPTE ST 2022-7 compliant transport, so communications travel with the same broadcast-grade resilience as the video itself. Director, camera operators, engineering and production share one coherent communication structure, even across multiple locations.
From capture to delivery
At the heart of the system, the Blackmagic ATEM 2 M/E Constellation 4K handles 20 x 12G-SDI inputs with 8 Advanced Keyers and SuperSource compositing. Every camera is ISO-recorded in 4K alongside the live cut, and the programme can be delivered on site, streamed, or produced remotely from our Lisbon MCR over SRT and SMPTE ST 2022-7 workflows. This is the same team that produces the Web Summit broadcast across 9 stages simultaneously and delivered the World Youth Day Lisbon live stream in 12 languages at the same time.
