The diffusion panel turns direct sunlight or hard artificial sources into a broader, more even light. This is useful, for example, when recording an interview outdoors in direct sunlight. The Lastolite Skylite Rapid is used by film and video professionals and photographers to control and soften light on larger productions. Unlike a traditional silk on a heavy metal frame, the Skylite Rapid is extremely quick to assemble and break down — a far simpler solution that one person can rig in minutes.

What it allows:

The tilting grip heads let you angle the panel to follow the sun or your fixtures, while the sandbags stabilise the stands. Especially useful in fashion and advertising photography, group portraits, interviews, film, television, automotive photography and large-product shoots. Outdoors, the panel acts like a large sail: it must always be properly ballasted and protected from wind.
