These conditions apply to every equipment rental from Digital Azul Audiovisuais, Lda (“Digital Azul”). By confirming a booking, the customer accepts them.
1. How to rent
- Request: choose the equipment on the site, enter your dates and send the quote request. You can also ask by email at rental@digitalazul.pt or by phone.
- Availability: we confirm availability and the final price by email. A request on the site is not a booking.
- Confirmation: the booking is confirmed once you reply by email with the invoicing details and we confirm the booking.
- Pick-up: collect the equipment at our premises with the documents listed in section 3, and pay for the rental.
- Return: return the equipment on the agreed date and time, complete and in the same condition.
2. Invoicing details
To confirm a booking we need: name or company name, address, tax ID (NIF/VAT number) and mobile phone number.
3. Documents at pick-up
The person collecting the equipment shows an ID card or passport and proof of address. If someone else will collect, send us their name and contact details beforehand.
4. Prices and payment
- Prices on the site are per rental day and exclude VAT at the legal rate.
- Payment is made at pick-up, by Multibanco debit card or in cash.
- Prices on the site are indicative. The price that applies is the one we confirm by email.
- Deposit: Digital Azul may ask for a deposit on high-value rentals, on cables or other equipment that needs particular care (for example, cabling to be installed at events), or from new customers. If so, we will tell you before confirmation.
5. Opening hours, pick-up and return
- Pick-ups and returns at our premises: Rua Vieira Lusitano, 10A, 1070-280 Campolide, Lisbon.
- Opening hours: weekdays, 9:00–13:00 and 14:00–18:00. Closed at weekends and on public holidays.
- Collection the evening before and return the next morning are included at no extra charge.
- If the return falls on a weekend or public holiday, it moves to the next working day, in the morning, at no extra cost.
- Delivery and collection at another location are available on quotation.
- Late returns not agreed with us are charged as extra rental days.
6. Cancellations
Cancellations up to 48 hours before pick-up are free of charge, unless we have already incurred costs for the booking (for example equipment sub-hire, transport, travel or crew already booked). In that case we charge those costs, which we document to the customer. Cancellations with less than 48 hours’ notice, or with no notice, are charged the same way plus the first rental day.
7. Professional equipment
All equipment rented by Digital Azul is intended for professional use. The customer is responsible for testing and checking the equipment at pick-up. Digital Azul is not responsible for configurations that have not been tested beforehand at our premises. You are welcome to test the equipment with us before leaving.
8. Customer responsibility, damage and loss
- From pick-up to return, the equipment is in the customer’s care and under the customer’s responsibility.
- The rental is not covered by any insurance. Damage, loss or theft is borne in full by the customer, who pays for repair or replacement with new equipment.
- We recommend that the customer holds equipment insurance for the production.
- In case of fault, damage or theft, tell us immediately. In case of theft, file a police report and send us a copy.
- The equipment may not be sub-let, lent or taken outside Portugal without written permission from Digital Azul.
9. Crew and operation
Some equipment is only rented with a Digital Azul operator (for example motion control and teleprompters). This is shown on each product page. For any other equipment we can provide technicians, set-up or operation on quotation.
10. Governing law and complaints
These conditions are governed by Portuguese law. Complaints can be filed in the Electronic Complaints Book (www.livroreclamacoes.pt). For consumer disputes, you may use the Lisbon Consumer Arbitration Centre (www.centroarbitragemlisboa.pt).
